Kingdom Pride in Kerry

A very warm welcome to you all, whoever you may be, welcome! We are delighted to introduce to you for the very first time our Kingdom Pride in Kerry blog! The biggest little Pride in Ireland! Here we plan to talk to you about anything and everything LGBTQ+ related in Kerry, Ireland, and across the World. These articles are aimed at everyone in the community along with anyone who would like to learn more about what it means to be LGBTQ+.

Who is Kingdom Pride?

Kingdom Pride in Kerry (KPINK) is a working group formatted through the Listowel Family Recourse Center (LFRC) to keep above board regarding finance, resources and more. LFRC initially started its LGBTQ+ Support Programs in 2007 eventually gaining designated full-time LGBTQ+ staff in 2022.

Kingdom Pride is run through the Listowel Family Recourse Center, formatted in 2021, and is a Voluntary Committee now overseen by LFRC staff.

What do we do?

Our goal at Kingdom Pride is to bring awareness and information to the people of Kerry and beyond. We have held yearly pride events since 2021 with a wide variety of hosts and events all around the Kingdom of Kerry. In 2023, Kingdom Pride in Kerry was presented with the "LGBTQ+ Community Organisation (Volunteer Staff) award at The Galas, LGBTQ+ Awards, Dublin.

ScEEN In Kerry

ScEEN In Kerry was founded on August 16th, 2019 as a working group of Listowel Family Resource Centre in partnership with the Kerry Diocesan Youth Service (KDYS) and the Social Inclusion Unit of HSE. The main aim of ScEEN In Kerry is to build networks between the wider LGBTQ+ community in Kerry and beyond by promoting inclusion, equality and well-being.

ScEEN In Kerry thrives on community involvement which is achieved with monthly activities, programs, workshops and services provided to support and educate the LGBTQ+ and wider community. Providing our fellow community members with helpful resources and the knowledge of their rights ScEEN hopes to encourage and inspire those to live their rightful life as an LGBTQ+ person in society.

To the queer people of Kerry, We are here, We are queer, and You are not alone!
